The holiday season should be a time of joy, celebration, and connection for every child and family. Unfortunately, many children, youth, and families in Waterloo Region face financial challenges that make participating in holiday traditions difficult.
For many families, holiday expenses compete with basic needs such as food, rent, utilities, and transportation. As a result, holiday traditions often become out of reach.
The Holiday Wishes program helps alleviate some of this pressure by providing families with choice and flexibility while ensuring children and youth can participate in the excitement and magic of the season. Whether it is a special gift, an experience with friends, or a toy that brings comfort and joy, these moments help create positive childhood memories and strengthen family connections.
