Whether you are cooking meals for a neighbor, picking up groceries for a friend, donating or volunteering, banging pots on your balcony, #StayingHome, or an essential or frontline worker continuing to do your job, you are helping in the fight against COVID-19.

Because of that, you are indeed a Very Important Person.

We are indeed in unprecedented times.   How are you? How are you managing? It’s challenging for many of us. Perhaps you are newly working from home, juggling a career and children or caring for members of your extended family. Maybe you are on your own or isolated from the people you love. We want you to know we are thinking of you and your loved ones. Even with the immense challenges facing us, we have already seen amazing examples of community solidarity right here in Waterloo Region. Many of the families we serve will be deeply impacted by the economic aspects of this situation.  If parents are unable to work, it will result in lowered incomes which will cause additional financial stress.  Many families simply don’t have the resources to stock up with fourteen days of food and medicine.  With the school closures, the question of childcare is now front and centre.
